Dynamic  vs. Fixed Layout eBooks

You may be wondering what the differences are between dynamic eBooks and fixed layout ebooks. This article will show you the difference between the two.

A dynamic eBook file is one where the text and images flow to fit the device screen whether you are using an iPad, Kindle or other devices for reading.  eBooks at present do have a dynamic layout. Dynamic layout is a simple and ingenious way to keep the text and images all at a readable size no matter what the size of your gadget screen may be. The original format and layout of the book is not the same with a dynamic format.

There are some things that can make a dynamic layout unpleasant and these are when the eBook contains many photographs and illustration, and also when the page design is the key element of the book.

The iBook Authoring on the other hand delivers the pages in the same layout as the original book whatever the device or screen size.  It is like seeing the exact copy of the printed page on your device screen. In this style, the printed page layout is preserved and will look the same in whatever gadget you read it.

However, the user has to zoom in and pan around to see the details or to be able to read small texts, especially if your device has a small screen. This format is ideally suited for coffee table books and highly illustrated children's novels. Know more about ebooks in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-book.

It is understandable why many books publishers would prefer the fixed formatting for eBooks considering the hard work that have put into formatting the layout of their original works. Although this is an issue with publishers, eBook readers are not really greatly affected by the preservation of paper book formatting in their gadgets. With fixed layout the eBook will appear small and smaller than a double spread page of the paper book. Because the pages are greatly reduced, ePublish iBooks readers will need to use the zoom in function and to pan back and forth so that they can read each line.

To make eBooks looks and perform well, fixed layout offers a valuable and powerful tool. One note to publishers is for them to redesign their pages so that the formatting is not lost but at the same time the pages will be easier to handle by the user.

This can be achieved by publishers by increasing the text size, reducing image sizes or removing too much detail from every page.

There are a lot of companies nowadays who focus on delivering a wide range of digital services to companies and authors who wish to publish their books in electronic form. Effective social media campaigns are offered to their clients because of their expertise in this area.  Services like digital product development, web designing and other online marketing activities are also offered by these companies.
